Traditional methods of joining metal have always involved welding or rivets. Both of these methods require cleanup and extended production processes. By using tape or adhesive you can however make a bond as strong as welding but without the dressing, cleanup or cosmetic problems.
Why is that better?
Spot welding in stainless steel catering equipment is a good example of where production can be speeded up and improved by swapping to an adhesive and tape bond. Often used in the manufacture of stainless steel tables a simple application of 3M VHB and 3M EPX can provide a near instant (Handling strength) bond that will cure to a joint that out performs the welded equivalent.
